OCCAR, the European Organization for Joint Armament Cooperation, has just achieved the official status of an independent international body. OCCAR currently manages the Tiger attack helicopter, the Hot/Milan anti-tank missile, and the A400M military transport. France, Germany, Italy, and Britain formed OCCAR in 1996. Belgium, Spain, and the Netherlands have applied to join.--Stephen V Cole
